ABSTRACT

Environmental pollution is one of the main problems facing the state institutions, businesses and society. Collection and reuse of generated waste is the basis for sustainable development of the entire economic system.

The author aims at revealing the problems and opportunities for introducing reverse logistics in the Bulgarian enterprises. The industrial and commercial enterprises in different economic sectors in Bulgaria have been studied in this research paper. The subject of this study is problems related to reverse logistics. The main thesis is that the implementation of reverse logistics would reveal the unresolved problems and new opportunities facing Bulgarian enterprises for more efficient use of resources and achieving sustainable growth. On this basis, an empirical study was conducted by means of distributing a questionnaire among a certain number of respondents. The results of the practical study highlight the problems facing the implementation of reverse logistics in Bulgaria.
